Awesome from an Unexpected Source

Shopping for me usually goes two ways- one, I impulse buy things because they are deeply on sale (like the white necklace in this picture, which was $2.50 and goes with everything I own it seems). Two, I have an idea that's fairly specific in my head and I look until I find it (my leather jacket).

More rarely I see something amazing and just know before I even put it on that I can't walk away from it- like the lilac patent-leather peep-toe pumps from Nordstrom that I found in February with Stephan, or my black WESC jacket. This dress was one of those things- I love the very mini length, the 3/4 length sleeves, the amazingly soft and stretchy fabric, the v-neck, the black-and-white palette... it manages to be classic and novel at the same time. Probably another short dress was the last thing I actually needed, but love at first sight just defies logic.

Amazing!

Miss Sixty has imitated the design Pour La Victoire shoes I've been in love with for more than a year, but rather than contrast colour blocks, they have created satin-jewel tones:

Ahhhh.

Fall Cravings

Totally boring, but these are what I like to call "things I want that I may actually someday be able to own". In short, I have let go of those M by MJ booties that Rumi and Karla flaunt in my face all the time.

Pale Grey Boots: It's hard to find a light grey pair of boots, plus these are flat. Flat boots mean I can wear them without whining.

Black Halo Jackie O Dress: I am perpetually waiting for an event that will justify buying this minidress.

Wax-coated Skinny Jeans : The ones I really covet are Helmut Lang. I also love the Sass and Bide ones. But Urban Outfitters has a pair for $78, which is a flipping bargain for jeans as versatile and special as these ones.

Red Patent Leather Pumps: They're not really hard to find, even though I am very particular about colour (the colour of my cherry freeze lipbalm, preferably). I just have too many shoes.

A black blazer or tuxedo jacket: Oh, that I could have this Balmain one. But really, anyone that fits will do. Or maybe Vero will get sick of hers (not likely).

Japanese Street Style Roundup

So, Style Arena just released their 'Best of 2008' (part one) and here are my favourite two pics: The first one is the japanese Ish and the second is the japanese Vero! I like the kate-hudson-circa-almost-famous hair of the first girl and her ultra-boss leather jacket. I also like it because it's not overly boho, which Style Arena seems to like a lot. The second one, I love because, duh, the calf-high-tri-tone wool socks. I'm not sold on the hat however and I don't know how I feel about the cropped jacket...props for wearing the necklace under the jacket collar like that though.

This next outfit comes from The Tokyo Modernistas. I like it, because it's so much more than a lolita-esque sailor/school girl outfit. It has a high fashion edge to it that perhaps is the combination of the taupe and the way it is layered here.

(VERO: I JUST WANTED TO ADD HOW MUCH I LOVE THE JAPANESE ME..CUTE!!)

Guilty Pleasures

*WANT* this coat - but you can't even buy it yet. Carmen does live in Vancouver, so I guess if I could afford it I could probably get a hold of it...love it. Listen to this song - such a guilty pleasure.

More Gap Ads

- as long as we are posting the gap ads... this and the Clemence one make me feel like there is a team of market researchers/ad execs watching our every move.

Play the slideshow in one tab and listen to this in the other. A full list/set/mix tape of desert songs/music from the road trip is on its way.

We Love: Clemence

Ish and I post about her constantly, because she's the cutest! Love her in these gap ads.

For fall, part deux

THAKOON!

love the play on layers but the subtle colour degradations. I adore the birdnest hair...and the short-skirt/tights-big coat combo.

Dear Friends

I am looking forward to this new project of ours. Finally! An idea from a while ago is coming to fruition. Now- let's caucus: decide on colours, themes, sidebars, etc.

KIERAN I WANT TO HEAR EVERYTHING ABOUT THE TRIP.

The Pitch

You guys talking to each other on your blogs is getting silly! Besides, I want in on the conversation.
I have invited you both and I think it should be pretty straight forward...um...style wise, how to post. I am not too sure how to navigate blogger, so hopefully you can all edit it and fix this up how you please.

This is a good start though - I think. Tell me what you think!
I chose 'tat wam asi' as a name (wamwamwam) because there is three of us and in one sense, we are the same person. 'I am you, you are me.'

All my lovin' ,
xoxo
